Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Sunday announced to spearhead a new campaign calling for protesters to write ‘go Nawaz go’ on currency notes as a protest, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the sit-in protest in Islamabad, Qadri appealed the public to write the ‘go Nawaz go’ slogan on every currency note to send the message across.
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan has warned that any such move will render the currency note invalid.
State Bank said that writing a political slogan on a currency note will waste it.
State Bank spokesperson has said that no bank including the State Bank will accept such a currency note.
